UNTAPPED (f, 2, Tapit–Fun House {Broodmare of the Year & GSW, $432,922}, by Prized) , a full-sister to Untapable, Ch. 3yo Filly & MGISW, $3,926,625, made it back-to-back victories and followed up on her ‘TDN Rising Star’ nod with an open-lengths optional claiming score at Fair Grounds. Third on debut after setting the pace going a mile Sept. 16 at Churchill, the chestnut graduated by 6 1/4 lengths going two turns Oct. 26 at Keeneland to earn the Rising Star designation. Breaking with all the money on at 1-2 here, the homebred showed her usual speed to press a longshot pacesetter through honest fractions of :23.65 and :47.83. Easily overtaking the frontrunner at the three-furlong pole, Untapped brushed aside the bid of Starr Bear (Broken Vow) at the top of the lane and drew clear, earning a 3 1/4-length success despite switching back to her left lead for the final furlong. Wicked Lick (Maclean’s Music) was second-best. In addition to being Untapable’s kin, Untapped is a half to Paddy O’Prado (El Prado {Ire}), GISW, $1,721,297, while her dam is a half to MGSW/GISP Early Flyer (Gilded Time). Second dam Bistra (Classic Go Go) is a half to GISW Olympio (Naskra) and GSW/GISP Call Now (Wild Again).
